Designing a Better Life: Making Hard Decisions

I wanted to give you a little update on my life and I’m not gonna lie… this is kind of therapy for me in a way because I’m just opening my heart to you guys.
After careful consideration, my husband and I decided that it would be a good idea for me to travel to USA to explore the possibility of starting a new life there.
We made this decision because we’ve been struggling financially for the last 5 months due to the fact that I wasn’t working; on top of that I got sick to the point where I had to go get surgery to remove a tumor.
Although we had a lot of help from some family members it wasn’t enough to cover all of our expenses and bills started to pile up big time.
Making this decision was very agonizing because this means that we are going to be apart from each other for a while. The unknown is very scary and I guess this is what paralyzed so many people and prevents them from making decisions that could change their life for the better. Some people stay with what is more comfortable for them even though it means they will not have an improvement or better quality of life.
I understand that is not easy to make this life changing decisions, but as the philosopher, Ruth chang said in her TED talk “hard choices are precious opportunities for us to celebrate what is special about being a human”. Click here to Watch
You know what else helped me to be brave and  make this decision?… it  was that I decided to raise my Standards. I learnt this on the Tony  Robbins book”Awaken the Giant within”.

When you raise your standards and turn “should” into “must,” you are making an inner shift to take control over the quality of your life. Any area you are not getting what you want is because you haven’t raised your standards.”—Tony Robbins

There are so many things I want to accomplish in life but none of those things would be possible if I don’t first work on being debt free and being financially stable. This is the step 1 in designing a better life for me, my husband and to be able to help others in need as well.

Is gonna be really hard to be thousands of miles away from my husband, but I trust him, he trusts me and we have such a strong bond that I know in my heart that although this is a huge sacrifice, it’ll be all worth it at the end.

I’ll be documenting my journey in designing a better life to share my experience, Join the ride 😉

What has been the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make so far?

With all my love,
